Patch box lid
The lid of a patch box commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, painted with a depiction of a seaman leaning on an anchor, ships at sea in the background. Inscribed above is 'To serve without Bribe is a true Britons Pride'. The lid has a mirror on the reverse.
