Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and the battle of the Nile, 1798. The surface is enamelled with a blue base and sides, the white lid with a black transferred inscription: 'Hail Nelson Hail / Thy naval Thunders roar / Humbl'd proud France / Near Egypts fertile shore'.
