Patch box
        
        Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and sides royal blue. The lid painted in colour with a cherub seated on a cornucopia, holding up a laurel spray and crowning a portrait of Nelson with a laurel wreath. The picture  is bordered with a blue edge with white dots and the inscription: 'Nelson and Victory with Peace and Plenty'.
