Patch box

Oval enamelled patch box with a mirror inside the lid. It commemorates Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The base and sides are green. The lid is white with a transfer monochrome picture of Britannia, seated by the shore, a lion at her feet, holding a scroll inscribed: 'Nelson.' There is a ship in the left background, and an eye with a nimbus above. Inscribed above: 'Britannia rules the waves.'
