Launching casket
Launching casket HMS 'Condor' 1876. A mahogany box with a hinged lid lined with purple velvet. It contains a photo of Alexander Moore (Chief Constructor of HM Dockyard Devonport), a chisel, mallet and a wooden shield around which the rope was coiled before being cut during the launching. Engraved on the chisel blade: 'HMS CONDOR, 8 GUNS / Launched by mIss Annie Moore / 28th Decr. 1876'.
