Fan

Fan commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805. It is made of paper with wooden struts and is printed in black with a portrait of Nelson within a star-shaped border. Two cherubs flank a naval crown above the portrait with naval trophies on either side. Inscribed below is 'LORD NELSON', 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN TO DO HIS DUTY'. The remainder of the design includes depictions of eight British warships: Prince, Euryalus, Neptune, Mars, Victory, Bellerophon, Temeraire and Royal Sovereign. It is entitled 'THE NEW TRAFALGAR FAN dedicated to Lady Collingwood'.
