Portrait plaque
Portrait plaque depicting Admiral of the Fleet Lord Richard Howe (1726-99). Circular, marble carving, showing Howe in uniform, facing right. Mounted in a black wooden frame with gilt beading and a suspension wire. It is based on a Wedgwood plaque by John de Vaere 1798. Inscribed on a label on the reverse: 'ARTHUR ACKERMAN & SON LTD Establishment for the sale of sporting prints, drawings and paintings, 157 New Bond Street, London W1.'
