Portrait plaque

Portrait plaque depicting Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). A vitreous paste white relief plaque of Lord Nelson in uniform facing towards the left, viewed in profile. Impressed on the truncation is: 'ADMIRAL LORD NELSON DIED IN THE GLORIOUS BATTLE OFF TRAFALGAR OCT. 21 1805'. Signed '. Signed 'Tassie F. 1805'. The plaque is mounted on glass with a blue background (previously beige) and an oval wooden frame with a suspension ring. Tassie's cameos were based on the profile by Catherine Andras.
