Curtain tie
Curtain tie commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and the Battle of the Nile, 1798. It is of gilded brass with a coloured enamel inset and a beaded border, and shows a warship with the inscription 'ADMIRAL NELSON. VANGUARD, 74 guns Augst 1st 1798'. There is a carriage screw for attachment at the small end.
