Watch stand

Brass watch stand in the form of a monument commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and his victories at the Nile, Copenhagen and Trafalgar. The pyramid on the top is decorated in relief with a profile portrait of Nelson within a wreath of laurel flanked by two Greek sphinxes. The hole for the watch face is in the centre of the plinth below, with an oak branch suspended by a ribbon on either side. It is inscribed 'NILE COPENHAGEN TRAFALGAR OCT 21 1805'
