R.N.A.V. cutter race tankard 1890

Pewter tankard won at the R.N.A.V. cutter race, 1890.

Tankard with two reeded bands of decoration, and three square-sectioned scroll handles. The inscription running round the top section reads: 'ROYAL NAVAL ARTILLERY VOLUNTEERS' and the date '1890' on the bottom band. One side inscribed with the winners' names: 'Junior Cutter Race Won by No 3 Battery
L.Gr. Bamber Gr. Alderson Gr Stevens .. Olyett ..Valance .. Palgrave .. Jones .. Williamson .. Wilson .. Rhodes C.P.O.Dudley’. The maker's name is stamped on the base with ’497’.
