Hot water jug: Union Castle Line
A silver plated hot water jug that formed part of the first class place setting on Union Castle Line ships. The jug is plain and has a hinged lid. There is a semi-obliterated crest on the side of the jug with the words "BRITISH & COMMONWEALTH". Inscribed on the base are the words "MAPPIN & WEBB, LONDON & SHEFFIELD, MAPPIN PLATE, T, CI/76".
