Commemorative sterling silver spoon
        
        A sterling silver spoon commemorating Roald Amundsen’s attainment of the South Pole. The round bowl shows the location of the South Pole. Cast into the handle: ‘SYDPOLEN-OPDAGER-14-17-DCMR-1911.’ The terminal shows a portrait with a star above inscribed: ‘ROALD AMUNDSEN’ and a portrait of his ship inscribed ‘FRAM’. Below the ship, a shield with the Royal Arms of Norway - the device is a rampant lion, crowned and holding an axe.
