Two of the many whale skulls that create an avenue on Yttygran Island

Two of the many bowhead whale skulls that are in pairs or fours, which make up a roughly parallel line following the curve of the shore of Yttygran Island.

This was the first island visited by the ice breaker Kapitan Dranitsyn (1980) and Ivy Sharp records that they arrived at about 0700. The weather was foggy, which turned to drizzle and then rain. They left at about 1120 as the weather deteriorated.
