An abandoned hut on Yttygran Island
An abandoned hut on Yttygran Island. The hut is made of wood and covered with black bitumen(?) felt, battened down with wooden slats. The high mountainous interior of the island can be seen in the background.
This was the first island visited by the ice breaker Kapitan Dranitsyn (1980) and Ivy Sharp records that they arrived at about 0700. The weather was foggy, which turned to drizzle and then rain. They left at about 1120 as the weather deteriorated.
