Small piece of pine from HMS 'Captain' 1869. Label: ' Part of the bowsprit of H.M.S. "Captain" Iron-clad Turret Ship, lost in a squall off Cape Finisterre, 12.15 am 7. Sept. 1870. Capt H.T. Burgoyne. V.C. with Capt. Couper Coles. R.N. the designer and 481 others were lost.'
