H.M.S. 'Eurydice' memorial card
Printed and embossed memorial card with black borders. The insciption is flanked by two angels, one holding an hour glass, the other a palm branch, a winged cherub's head and palm branches above. Inscription: 'In Memory of the / OFFICERS AND CREW / of / H.M.S. EURYDICE, / who were drowned at Sea (over 300) through / the sinking of the Ship, in a Sudden / Squall off the Isle of Wight, / on / Sunday Afternoon, March 24th, 1878. / "In the midst of Life we are in Death."
