Seal of the judge of the admiralty of Cornwall, early 17th century. It depicts a man-of-war with two decks, shortened to get it inside the circle. The mainsail bears the shield of arms of the Stuart sovereigns encircled by the garter. At the main, a pennon of England, at the mizen, a pennon of France. Inscription: 'SIGILLVM . IVDICIS . ADMIRALITATI . CORNVBIAE'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
