Michael Stanhope, seal of office, circa 1540. It depicts an early sixteenth century warship with one complete gun deck and a bonaventure mast aft of the mizen. The Royal Arms are shown on the sail of the vessel. Inscription: 'SIGILLV . MICHAELIS . STANHOPE ARMIGERI . VICEADMIRALLI . COMITATVS . SVFFOLCIE'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
