        Richard Plantagenet, seal of office, 1471-5. It depicts a fifteenth century sailing vessel. A cresset in the fore-stage is shown in place of an admiral's lantern at the stern. The Royal Standard is displayed on the sail and a banner in the stern. Inscription: 'S' : RIC'I : DUC' : GLOUC' : ADMIRALLI : ANGL'ET : COM' : DORS' : ET : SOMS'.
