Paris, the 6th seal of the city, 1412. A cast of an impression on a document of 1412. The matrix was cut some years before. The inscription '(SIGILLV) M . MERCATORVM . (AQUE.) PARI(SIVS)' returns to Latin. Obverse: An early fifteenth century sailing vessel. The head of the sail bears three fleurs-de-lys per fess, which is contemporaneous with their addition in chief to the shield of arms of Paris. On an cardboard backboard with a label.
