Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a lifesaving medal. Obverse: Head of Victoria left, wearing a coronet and a veil draped behind; the Order of the Star of India on her dress. Legend: 'VICTORIA REGINA'. Reverse: Legend: 'THE GIFT OF THE MAHARAJAH OF BURDWAN'. In the field: 'PRESENTED BY THE LORD MAYOR OF LONDON FOR GALLANT CONDUCT AT THE BURNING OF HMS GOLIATH 22ND DECR. 1875'.
