Royal Humane Society Medal
        
        Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a Royal Humane Society medal. Obverse: A nude boy blowing on an extinct torch. Legend: 'LATEAT SCINTILLVLA FORSAN.' (Peradventure a little spark may yet lie hid). Exergue: 'SOC . LOND . IN . RESUSCITAT . INTERMORTVORVM . INSTIT . MDCCLXXIV'. (Society established in London for the recovery of persons in a state of suspended animation, 1774). Reverse: Legend: 'HOC PRETIVM CIVE SERVATO TVLIT' (He obtained this reward for saving the life of a citizen). Within an oak wreath: 'DO. FVRNASS / VITAM / OB / RESTITVTAM'.
