Leather bound album: SS 'Cathay' and SS 'Comorin'

A black leather bound album. Inside the front and back cover is a gold coloured decoration that goes around the edge of the inside cover. Printed on an inside page are the words "PENINSULAR & ORIENTAL STEAM NAVIGATION COY, LONDON, S.S CATHAY & S.S. COMORIN, BEING BUILT BY MESSRS BARCLAY CURLE & COY, GLASGOW, DECORATION AND FURNISHING COLOUR SCHEMES, MESSRS WARING & GILLOW LTD, LONDON, DECORATORS TO HIS MAJESTY THE KING". It contains schemes for decorations and furniture for the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company liners SS 'Cathay' 1925 and SS 'Comorin'. The album also includes fabric samples. The back of the forth, forteenth, sixteenth, nineteenth and twentieth page have large acid burns. Several of the pages are slightly warped around the edges. Etched onto the corner of several photographs are the words "THIS PHOTOGRAPH IS THE PROPERTY OF WARING & GILLOW LTD". The top corner of the twelfth page is missing. There are some light scratches on the front and back cover, while the black colour is coming away around the edges.
