Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a French jeton, 1628. Obverse: Richelieu arms, superimposed on anchor with cardinal's hat above. Crown above the shield and the Order of Saint Esprit suspended on a ribbon around it. Legend: 'ARMAND . IEHAN . DV . PLESSIS . CARDINAL . DE . RICHELIEV'. Reverse: The port of La Rochelle, a boom between mole-heads, defended by a cannon. Two vessels outside. Legend: 'RVPELLA * CAPTA'. Exergue: '1628'.
