Medal cast
Two casts, obverse and reverse of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Bust of Louis XIV as a youth, wearing a cloak over armour. Legend: 'LUDOVICUS . XIIII . REX . CHRISTIANISSIMUS'. Reverse: Rising from the sea, a trident, to which are tied crosswise a palm branch and laurel branch, a naval crown surrounding the whole. Cartagena and the victorious fleet in the distance. Legend: 'OMEN IMPERII MARITIMI'. Exergue: '. HISPANIS . SVO . IN . MARI . VICTIS . AD . KARTAG . NOVAM . M . DC . XLIII.' Reverse chipped.
