Lawrance is shown in a dark unbuttoned double-breasted jacket and neck cloth, pale waistcoat and a white shirt. The buttons on the waistcoat, jacket and both epaulettes are picked out in gold.

The gold colour mount is embossed with a pattern. The frame is metal and is raised with a line pattern. The case is covered in a dark red leather with a raised floral pattern. The inside of the case is lined with red velvet with a pattern in the lid.
