Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Napoleon, in the dress of an antique warrior, standing on the deck of a galley. Upright trident to the right. Legend: 'FATIS . PROPULSIS . NEOPOLIO . NEPTUNI . HOSTES.' Reverse: Inscription: 'NAPOLEON S'EMBARQUE A ROCHEFORT LE VIII JUILLET M. DCCC. XV.' Commemorates the attempt of Napoleon to retire to the United States after abdicating in favour of his son in 1815.
