Legend: "DA. MERCEDES * GONZALEZ * Y * LAVALLE * A * LOS * YLUSTRES * DEFENSORES *'. Below: 'ARRBL'. Exergue: 'BUENOS AIRES SORPREHENDIDA JUNIO 27 1806' (Buenos Aires surprised 27 June 1806).  Reverse: The peasant now transformed into a soldier, attacks the English soldier. In the field: '. PERO NO VERCERME .' (But not vanquish me). Legend: ': LINIERS * CONCHA * Y * LASALA * DE * SU * REY * y * DE * SU * PATRIA *'. Exergue: 'BUENOS AIRES DEFENDIDA . DIA 5 JULIO DE 1807.'  Commemorates the repulse of a British attack on Buenos Aires. the medal was struck by the mother of General Lavalle who fell defending the town.
