Single cast of a Dutch commemorative medal. Broken in half, half missing. Obverse: Sea battle. Legend: 'INQVISITIO . INQVIRENDO . NIMIS . SEDVLO . SE . IPSAM . PERDIT' (The inquisition by too sedulously enquiring destroys itself). Battle of the Zuydersee, the medal struck in 1620.
