Ostara (1909); Recreation vessel; Yacht; 15 Metre class
        
        Scale:Unknown. A contemporary half block model of the cutter-rigged 15 metre class racing yacht Ostara (1909). The hull is carved from a solid block of wood(?) and is painted black  below the waterline with creamy white topsides above to the level of the gunwale. It has a very pronounced sheer with a curved bow running smoothly aft to the ballast keel. The sternpost is raked aft and is fitted with a half elliptical-shaped rudder, above which is a long, narrow and tapering counter stern. The deck is fitted with stump bowsprit finished a natural wood lightly stained and varnished. The whole model is mounted on a rectangular-shaped mahogany backboard with moulded edge on which is inscribed "Ostara" 15 metre class Designed by A. Mylne 1909 Dimensions: - 49.2 W.L x 13.6 x 9.25 draught".
