Octavia (1911); Recreation vessel; Yacht; 19 Metre class
        
        Scale: Unknown. A contemporary half block model of the cutter-rigged 19 metre class racing yacht Octavia (1911). The hull is carved from a solid block of wood(?) and is painted black  below the waterline with creamy white topsides above to the level of the gunwale. It has a very pronounced sheer with a curved bow running smoothly aft to the ballast keel. The sternpost is raked aft and is fitted with a half elliptical-shaped rudder, above which is a long, narrow and tapering counter stern. The whole model is mounted on a rectangular-shaped mahogany backboard with moulded edge on which is inscribed  "Octavia 19 metre class designed by A Mylne 1911. Dimensions 62' 2" LWL x 17' 2" x 11' 9" Draught".
