Plaque inscribed "Hector battleship 1862. Built at Govan. Ended sea going service in 1886. Sold for breaking up in 1905. Original armaments: - 4 7" rifled BC., 20 68 pdr. smooth bore ML. Later armament: - 2 8" and 16 7" rifled ML. Dimensions: - length 280ft. Beam 56 ft 3" Displacement 6700 tons. Speed 11 knots". Number "(1)" on backboard.
