Trophy of Aboriginal and Maori Implements

A trophy of Aboriginal and Maori implements including a parrying shield, three bows and one Taiaha [Maori challenge stick] all secured with loops to a wooden backboard. The wooden backboard has metal fittings to hang the trophy. All of the objects were collected by Sir John and Jane Franklin, while the former was governor of Van Diemens Land (Tasmania).
