Warship; Turret ship
Scale: Unknown. A half block model of the starboard side of a belted turret ship, made entirely in wood and polished a golden brown finish with darker staining. The hull is carved from two horizontal sections of timber the joint of which is roughly where the waterline would be if it were depicted. The joint has opened up slightly at the stern of the model. The model is displayed on a rectangular wooden plank-like backboard, stained or patinated a dark brown finish. On label attached to right-hand side of backboard ‘Belted turret ship 240 x 50 x 18 feet Draft Displacement 4000 Tons IHP 5250 Speed (estimated) 13 Knots. Armament 2 x 2.25 ton and 3 x 6 inch guns. A Dewy (?) W Jacobsen’.
