Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: 1:24. A model showing an alteration to the standard pattern Admiralty anchor, as proposed by Lieutenant William Rodger circa 1819. The model has been made in iron and wood, the stock being made in mahogany and stained dark brown to match the metal parts of the model. The anchor has a tapering rectangular shank and a conventional crown but the two flukes are of different designs and sizes. The standard pattern fluke has a large palm, while Rodger's proposal is smaller in comparison. The stock has six iron square hoops binding it, and there is a shackle at the head of the shank.
