Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a stockless anchor, made entirely in aluminium alloy which has patinated a dark matt grey colour. The shank is rectangular in section, the short sides being slightly convex. Along the length of one straight side is inscribed in capital lettering "Admiralty pattern" and along the length of the other side, also in capital lettering "Improved Martin's patent stockless anchor sole makers H. Charlton & Co. Gateshead". The top of the shank there is a D-ring that pivots on a round-headed rivet. The shank pivots on the crown through an arc of about 60 degrees. The bottom of the crown is convex and has a small aperture in the centre. The bottom of the arms are also curved and are reinforced with a pair of transverse ridges. The elongated flukes point vertically upward, are roughly hexagonal in profile and taper to a point.
