Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a stockless anchor (circa 1822) cast entirely from iron and showing it either damaged or converted to a mooring anchor. Only one arm is connected to the flat-sided oval shaped shank and is complete with the familiar shaped palm. At the top of the shank it tapers into a rectangular section with two small shoulders which once may have supported a stock, just below the large circular ring. The shank stamped: 'INVENTED BY T BROWN 1821', 'THE ANCHOR WAS FINISHED THE 21 JANY 1822', 'MODDLE OF THE ANCHOR 46-3-0', 'MADE IN THE DOCK YARD WOOLWICH'.
