Unknown vessel
        
        Scale: not calculated. A vessel with a very curiously shaped hull (19th century), shaped something like a modern twin-hulled vessel. Two tubes underneath the hull terminate at the stern of the model in a vertical arrangement as though they are designed to accommodate rudders. A depression in the deck at the bow includes a hole that travels vertically right through the vessel, the purpose of which is not known. The model is a mystery, made more perplexing by the fact that it is incomplete. It was acquired from the Mercury Training School, where it was described as a ‘Model of a hull, with double cylindrical bilge keels’.
