Fighting vessel; Burmese War Canoe

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Burmese war canoe (Burma now known as Myanmar). The model has been made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. Dugout hull, carved from a single piece of wood, with wash strake. The exterior hull is light grey with dark grey detailing at the stern, bright red inboard and blue and red painted oculi at the bow. The paddles and steering oar are also painted light grey and the paddles have red handles. There is a corrugated, decorative stern and a turned decorative pole projecting from the port side stern quarter. The model is displayed on a pair of tall decorative crutches with brass cradles. High sheer to stern and low flat bows. Bow inscribed "NO 18 CLASS 3". Equipped with 26 oars and a steering oar used over port quarter.
