Fishing vessel; Junk, Tsat Pon Trawling Junk

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Tsat Pon trawling junk. Model is made entriely in wood and the hull has been made plank on frame. The planks used are wide and pinned to a roughly made frame. The stern sweeps upward terminating in two rails, one above the other, each with ornately turned balisters. The poop deck has a well for the rudder, although the rudder is missing. The main deck has a number of cargo hatches, all of which are uncovered revealing the bulkheads and internal structure. In the middle of the main deck there is a set of nine cargo hatches, forming a rectangle. There is provision for three masts and these, together with sails and other fittings are stored separately. The model is unpainted apart from the small black panels on the port and starboard bows on which is marked chinese characters. Fittings including spars, cotton sails, fishing gear and anchors in accompanying cardboard box.
