A Map of the World
A sampler in the form of a map of two hemispheres of the world, embroidered in coloured silk on a cream silk background. Flower sprays are embroidered in the corners, a compass rose at the centre bottom and the title 'A map of the World' in the centre top. Various voyages of discovery are embroidered in both spheres but only Cook's voyages are identified by name.
