Handkerchief
Linen handkerchief embroidered in the centre with a yellow airship, bearing a red/white/blue flag, beneath two shields diagonally opposite, one showing the union jack, the other a white ensign. In the top left and right hand corner are embroidered wings, British aircraft, in yellow and white thread, in bottom corners. Embroidered inscription: 'FROM SHOTLEY R-N-A-S-O 1917 MERRY CHRISTMAS' (Royal Naval Air Service). Embroidered by Reginald Gibling, a telegraphist in HMS 'Ganges'.
