Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1787
Flag officer's undress uniform. Wool, hand sewn. Wool lined. Gilt buttons with foul anchor surrounded by a laurel wreath. Lapels do not button across, being secured by hooks and eyes. Eight buttons each side. 3/4 " metal lace round collar and lapels and button holes. Lace round white cuffs and sleeve slash flap. Three buttons on sleeve slash. No buttons below pockets. Back vent with pleats each side.
