Type O.2

Brass standard. Upper end of tube is fitted with 4 fore and aft and 4 athwartship tubes for carrying corrector magnets, fitted with brass sleeve which when in place prevents magnets coming out of tubes. Below this is a brass knob which operates a spring clip inside the tube which is believed to have engaged on the mounting spigot. Base of tube has a mounting collar, with elongated screw holes. Standard for 0.2 compasses as originally supplied for service. This standard is longer than necessary and is intended to be cut down according to circumstances.
