Liquid compass.

Bowl: Red painted brass, glazed bottom, a heavy lead ring is fitted at base. Inside of bowl painted white with one black lubber line painted on side. Verge ring graduated to 360 deg, verge glass broken.

Card: Diameter 8" (20.2 cm) Paper card of the "Kelvin light dry type", graduated to 360 degrees and in 1/4 points, with Dutch lettering. Card is damaged.

Needle: Six light bar needles attached below card on thread framework, in Kelvin manner.

Pivot: Brass pivot stem mounted on bridge at base of bowl. A steel pivot point at top of stem engages in jewelled pivot cup carried at centre of card.
