Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1843-1860
Two buttons.Smooth edge. Within a raised circular border on a lined background is a pre-1901 crown above the initials R. N. Two branches of leaves cross at the bottom and go up each side with the tips of the branches level with the mid-point of the crown. Worn while on half-pay.
