Card-Paper card, black with white markings, graduated to 1/4 points. Has decorated E point. Fitted with a heavy metal rim which is graduated in degrees, having 0 degrees at E and W points.
Needle-Single flat bar needle, 6.3"long (0.5"wide). Has slightly expanded centre to accommodate pivot cap. Fitted with two brass sliding weights.
Pivot-Cone-shaped brass pivot cap with jewel at top screwed through centre of needle.
