Exeter (1744)

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, stern board outline with some detail, sheer lines, and longitudinal half-breadth proposed (and approved) for Exeter (1744), 60-gun fourth Rate, two-decker. The plan has some differences to ZAZ1684, including being less detailed in the stern decoration, as well as the quarter gallery windows, which have square tops on this plan but curved tops on the other. This plan was received from Plymouth Dockyard along with a block model, which does not exist in the Museum's collections.

Signed by Peirson Lock [Master Shipwright, Plymouth Dockyard, 1726-1742]
