Red Ensign
Fragment of a British naval ensign. Accompanied by a trinket box (AAA0916.1) and handwritten note saying 'Piece of the Red Ensign under which Lord Nelson fought the Battle of the Nile. Torn off the flag which was given by Lord Nelson to Beckford...at Fonthill Abbey Wilts. 1822'. Fragment only remains.
